Share your sales and promotion ideas

In trying to grow the sales of Created gifts in the UK, we are interested in hearing about what you have had success with in your area so others can perhaps try and do something similar or learn from your mistakes. What new events or approaches have you taken to selling Created gifts? What places have you been that suprised you with the outcome. What great outlets have you found for particular products? Share here any ideas you have tried so that others can benefit from your experience.

  1. Aim to organise and or do at least one additional event this season!
If there is no slot available following your normal church services, then what about running a stall at social (e.g quiz night) or pastoral (e.g. lunch) events?

  2. There are several short videos of producers available for use but please could there be a promotional dvd or online film which could be shown in a church/women's group etc. If this could show workers from around the world such as the ladies in Peru, the craftmen in India etc. and the products they make.

Buyers are interested to know about the producers but it's difficult to show them where and how the products are produced and the underlying principles of 'Created'.

If there could be a short and a longer film then it would help for different circumstances.

    Thanks.

  3. I too felt there was value in short videos which I could show at church/ Rural/ community events and found that if I installed RealPlayer on my computer (free download, and most computers will already have it) I could then view and save quite a few Tearfund and (Tearcraft) Created videos from Youtube. Beware that some schools can not show Youtube videos on the classroom video boards.

  4. My particular resolution for the 2010 Autumn/Christmas season. Not only do it myself but get the rest of my staff to say not 'Would you like a Created Gifts catalogue?' but to firmly give customers a Created Gifts Catalogue while saying 'We have lots of these products in the shop but as you'll see there are even more in the catalogue and we can order and get any item for you within just a few days'.
